Jim Croce’s song from the 1970’s has special meaning for baby boomers. His opening lyrics say “If I could save time in a bottle”. We know that saving time is an expression we use when an activity or job is shortened. I just returned from a small vacation with my brother, two sisters and my Mom. The conversations took me back to my childhood. This nostalgic period is 40 plus years removed, yet all of us were transported to the same place almost simultaneously. It is good to reminisce with people you love. Forty years, it seems like yesterday. The value of relationships is what makes time so priceless. As you approach the pinnacle of your life many of your abilities will be diminished. Time has put its stamp on our lives and serves a reminder, one day it will end. This is not a glum moment. I have lived far longer than many of my piers. Older age is a gift. We know time ticks along 24 hours in each day. If you could save time in a bottle, which moments would it contain? Value those moments and create new ones. New memories are waiting to be created. Fill your bottle with times you will enjoy forever.

This vacation is one I would love to save in a bottle!
